IE Promise

IE Promise

Skills for the Future. Access for All.

The IE Promise is an institutional commitment to raise awareness and educate students in the Inland Empire about alternative pathways toward mortgage sustaining wages.

Why the IE Promise?

We believe students deserve the power to choose their own career path. The IE Promise works to increase awareness of careers in the skilled trades as high-value alternatives because workers in this region are deserving of high wages and strong benefits. The IE Promise is strengthening these pathways and ensuring students and families can make informed decisions about their future.

In the Inland Empire, only about 57% of graduates attend university, significantly lower than the state average (Public Policy Institute of California).

There is an opportunity to enhance job prospects in the local economy by promoting apprenticeship programs, enabling students to secure high-wage employment after high school, regardless of whether they choose college or trade.
